Welcome message from Pastor Don and Debbie
What a privilege it is to be loved by the God of the whole universe! Our desire is to lead our church family in developing a consistent, deeply personal, rock solid relationship with Jesus, putting Him at the center of all that we do and all that we are. If you do not have a church family or do not have an actual relationship with Jesus, we encourage you to give that your best effort here at Newburyport Pentecostal Assembly! We will present God’s Word to you, encourage you, and pray with you as you make a sincere decision to live a life that grabs hold of the wonderful plan God has for you!
About Our Church
We are one of more than 12,700 churches in the U.S. that belong to the Assemblies of God church fellowship, which was formed in 1914. We stress the necessity of having a personal, continual, vibrant relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Our particular church began as a home church group in 1940. The present facilities on Hale Street were completed in 2000. Our church family includes residents of Newburyport and nearby towns in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine.
We gather together on Sunday mornings to worship God through singing, praying, and learning from God’s Word, the Bible. On Wednesday evenings, we provide an informal atmosphere for Bible study. Events and activities are scheduled periodically for additional fellowship.
The Assemblies of God is an evangelic protestant fellowship that believes God exists in three persons -- the Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit. The most definitive identification of the Assemblies of God is Pentecostal. Just as it was founded in 1914, the Fellowship remains a full gospel church—one where the fullness of the Holy Spirit is welcomed, nurtured, and taught. This includes speaking in tongues as the initial evidence of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Other manifestations of the Holy Spirit embraced by the church include: messages in tongues with interpretations, prophecies, word of knowledge, and the complete gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit as indicated in the Bible. Among Pentecostal churches—the Assemblies of God is largest worldwide with over 52 million constituents.
